BLOG HEADER IMAGE TEMPLATE 2

1 June 2023

There’s so much to explore and enjoy at Perisher, it can be hard to know where to start. No need to worry, we have you covered! We’ve pulled together an itinerary certain to keep you entertained all Opening Weekend long, whether it’s your first time at Perisher or your tenth.

Arrive on Friday 9th June for an extra-long Long Weekend

No matter where you are travelling from, we recommend arriving at your accommodation by mid-afternoon on Friday 9 June. This way, you will have time to unpack, settle in, and unwind before the weekend really starts.

You can also use this time to collect your Snowsports Rentals to beat the Saturday morning rush. This will also be a great opportunity to collect your Mountain Access Card from one of the many self-serve pick-up machines located across the resort.

Welcome Winter with PEAK Festival

We’re welcoming Winter to the sounds of PEAK Music Festival, which kicks-off from 5PM on Friday 9th June. Head up to Smiggin Holes for a Welcome to Country before enjoying a night of live music across both Smiggins Hotel and The Man From Snowy River Hotel.

Perisher’s Skitube services will be fully operational from Friday 9th June for the quickest and most reliable way to and from PEAK. Check the timetable here.

Rise and shine! It’s Opening Day at Perisher 😍

Perisher is calling! Ensure your alarm is set and that you’ve packed all the essentials for an awesome first day at Perisher. Here’s a quick run down on getting to Perisher:

Skitube at Bullocks Flat

Leave your car at Bullocks Flat and hop on Perisher’s Skitube. You’ll arrive at Perisher Valley in just 10 minutes, meaning Skitube is the easiest and most reliable way to Perisher. Services run frequently, 7 days per week. You can check the timetable here. We recommend booking your Skitube tickets online and in advance to save.

Bus Service

With services departing frequently, 7 days a week, the new Snowy Mountains Bus Service is a safe and convenient way to travel between Jindabyne and Perisher. Services run to both Bullocks Flat and Perisher from Jindabyne every 60 minutes Monday-Thursday, with the added convenience of every 30 minutes Friday to Sunday. We recommend booking online ahead of time, however guests are also invited to show up and go.

Welcome to Perisher 😍 Let the fun begin!

Make your way to Front Valley where all the action will be happening. We are stoked that conditions have allowed us to operate a skiier conveyor at the base of Front Valley for Opening Weekend, while many other resorts remain closed.

If it’s your first time on the snow, make sure to secure a lesson with Perisher Snowsports School in advance to make the most of your holiday.

Lunch break 🍔

Rest and recharge after an awesome first morning and visit one of our great restaurants or cafes. Enjoy something to eat and drink at Jax Bar in Perisher Valley Centre, or head to the brand-new Yama Bar for some delicious Japanese-style cuisine.

Remember, Epic Australia Pass Holders receive up to 15% off food and beverage at Perisher-owned venues.

Check out PEAK Music Festival

Enjoy Day 2 of PEAK Music Festival, kicking off from 11:30AM at Jax Bar on 10th June. The live entertainment continues until 10PM Sunday night across a handful of Perisher locations including Sundeck, The Man From Snowy River Hotel and Corroboree Lodge. PEAK is not ticketed, meaning you’re quite literally ready to rock and roll as soon as you arrive! Check out the full program here.

There are plenty of options to help you warm-up and wind-down after an awesome first day on the mountain. Head to Perisher Valley Hotel for a drink by the fire, or Base 1720 Bar & Restaurant at The Manor for a well-deserved drink and meal.
