Retro Weekend! Celebrating the Life of Mount P Triple
This weekend, we're bidding farewell to the Mount P Triple Chair in style with a retro-themed ride day! As we prepare for the arrival of the new Mount P 6-seater, join us in celebrating the iconic 70s—the decade when the Triple Chair first began spinning. Over the weekend, dress up in your best retro gear and get ready for two days packed with fun! Be sure to dress to impress, as there will be on-mountain prizes for the best outfits. Plus, free live music at Jax Bar all weekend from 11:30am - 2:30pm from Steve Edmonds Band.
Saturday 14th – Scavenger Hunt & Epic Appreciation Day
Kicking off the weekend is a retro-themed scavenger hunt, starting at 9:00AM across all open areas of the mountain. Five lucky winners will take home some awesome retro Perisher merch. Keep an eye on the Perisher Instagram for clues on where to find the flags @perisher_resort. If you're fortunate enough to find one, return it to Slopestyle inside the Perisher Centre to claim your prize.
We're also hosting our annual Epic Appreciation Day on Saturday! Despite the challenges of this season, we're incredibly thankful for our dedicated Pass holders who show up in all conditions—snow, sleet, or shine. To celebrate, we’re holding a special prize giveaway outside Slopestyle from 12:30PM to 2:00PM. Spin the wheel for your chance to win from a selection of fantastic prizes!
You could be one of five lucky winners to take home a pair of Oakley goggles! Or you might score some Epic merch, a mystery prize, or other exciting goodies.
Don't have a 2024 Epic Australia Pass but still want to join in on the fun? No worries! You can still spin the wheel—just chat with one of our staff members on the day to find out how.
Sunday 15th – Goodies Galore!
Sunday marks the final day of operation for our beloved Mount Perisher Triple Chair. The retro theme continues, with a special guest making their way to the chair to hand out our famous morning cookies at 11:00 AM. Keep an eye out as our guest heads to Front Valley, where they’ll be handing out goodies for the kids.
The celebration doesn’t stop there! From 12:00PM, DJ Bolta will be spinning 70s-style tunes at the Triple Chair as it spins for the last time this season.
We invite everyone to come together and celebrate the history of the Mount P Triple Chair in true retro style. Whether you're hunting for scavenger prizes, spinning the wheel for a chance to win, or just soaking in the 70s vibes, it's bound to be a fun-filled experience. Don’t miss out on this chance to bid farewell to a Perisher icon before we welcome the next chapter with the new 6-seater. See you on the mountain for a weekend of nostalgia, excitement, and plenty of surprises!
4 November 2024
It’s been another busy week on Mt. Perisher as we welcomed the delivery of the first of a whopping 51 shipping containers carrying important infrastructure for our new chairlift.
The containers made their grand voyage across the ocean from Austria to Sydney before being loaded onto trucks and transported to Mt. Perisher.
The containers bring with them essential lifting infrastructure like sheaves (the wheels on each lift tower that make the ‘duh-duh, duh-duh, duh-duh’ sound as the chair rolls over them), the lift’s haul rope, and even the operator hut.
Since the arrival of the containers, the Perisher and Doppelmayr team have been busy unloading and moving the infrastructure into place, some of which required the help of a crane.
Can you imagine the peoplepower that goes into moving 51 containers worth of chairlift infrastructure?!
Watch the video below to see the Perisher and Doppelmayr teams hard at work unboxing the containers.

16 October 2024
As the grass grows greener each day and the wildflowers start to bloom, it's far from quiet on the hill as we prepare for a very busy summer of construction of our brand new, 6-seater chairlift on Mt. Perisher.
After farewelling the Mt. Perisher Triple Chair in late September and our guests shortly after, the Perisher and Doppelmayr teams swung straight back into action with the removal of the lift's bottom drive station and Tower 1 this past week.
The removal of the Triple's drive station and Tower 1 will make way for the construction of the new 6-seater chair's bottom station which is now well underway with excavation works for both the mast and loading conveyor now complete as well as its mast's steel and formwork in progress.
Over the next few weeks, the team will be busy forming the concrete foundations of the second tower of the new chair, with the first stage of concrete pouring having taken place on 16th October.
