All we can say right now is WOW, what a few days at Perisher! After much anticipation, the cold front that was promised swept through Perisher, bringing with it 64cm of fresh snow. The mountain team were putting in the hours to make the most of the fresh snow, which resulted in the interlinking of all four resort areas! Guests were able to ski and board between Smiggin Holes, Perisher, Blue Cow, and Guthega on Sunday.
Saturday's Conditions
The snowfall was pumping on Saturday, delivering the most amount of snow to fall in a single day this season. Along with the large amount of snowfall, strong gusts of wind also joined the party. While visibility was low, spirits were high, as guests braved the conditions. It was well worth it to enjoy the 25cm of fresh snow that fell. The snowfall was non-stop on Saturday; it even snowed down at Bullocks Flat, with guests who caught the Skitube stunned at the winter wonderland along the train tracks.
SUNday's Conditions
Saturday paved the way for a stellar Sunday. With an extra 20cm of snow falling on Saturday night into Sunday morning, the Bluebird Day called for permanent smiles on every skier and boarder’s face who hit the slopes. With the sun shining and fresh pow on the ground, there is a good reason we are calling it the 'day of the season'.
We are thrilled to add this weekend to the books and look forward to many more days like this, with another cold front expected to roll in next week. Keep your eye on the forecast!
