Tackling the Weather đź’Ş
Wow...Well, that was well and truly a big week at Perisher! With a strong start to the week, (the winds that is) our mountain team worked hard to have as many lifts running as safely as possible. If you braved the mountain at the beginning of the week on those cold and windy days, we hope you had the chance to visit us on Thursday or Sunday. Mother Nature decided to throw us a pleasant curve ball and bring the sunshine! As guests removed their buffs and swapped goggles for sunnies, it was truly a magical surprise. With most guests heading over to Blue Cow, Mount Perisher was a scene to behold with shorter lift lines, low winds, and clear skies.
Joining all four resort areas
On Saturday, we geared up for our keen weekend warriors and school holiday makers. That morning we announced that all four resort areas were finally interlinked, however we were disappointed to have to close the link between Guthega and Blue Cow later in the day due to the essential de-icing of lifts. Guest and staff safety always comes first at Perisher, with the team working hard to have all four resort areas interlinked by the afternoon. With Perisher Valley, Blue Cow, Guthega and Smiggin Holes joined again later in the day, the mountain team focussed their attention on opening Piper Terrain Park which made its season debut that day.
Night Skiing and Boarding
Night skiing and boarding returned on Tuesday, with guests embracing the unofficial neon theme and riding down the mountain in light-up costumes and retro gear. Shout out to the skier with the light up poles! You are the real MVP. The night was topped-off by an awesome fireworks display thanks to clear skies. Unfortunately, we were unable to have fireworks for our Saturday night riders due to poorer conditions.
Subaru WRX First Tracks
Subaru WRX First Tracks are now in full swing, with Epic Australia Pass Holders lining up at V8 and Leichhardt chairs to secure some first, powdery turns of the day. Sunday morning was particularly special with a beautiful, golden sunrise and low winds…our favourite combination.
Winter Sports Club
Winter Sports Club kicked-off on Sunday morning as our up-and-coming athletes enjoyed amazing conditions on Front Valley. You’ll see our Winter Sports Club athletes training all season in multiple locations across the resort, with some terrain temporarily closed to the public across Perisher Valley and Blue Cow to allow our athletes to train and compete. The Week Ahead
It’s going to be another awesome week at Perisher, with a storm front rolling in on Tuesday morning and bringing us fresh snowfall up until Sunday!
With NSW School Holidays now in full swing, as well as Subaru Northern NSW/QLD Interschools taking place across the resort this week, please ensure to plan ahead when visiting Perisher.
