The Perisher Winter Sports Club (WSC) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all participants. The purpose of this statement is to state our strong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people who participate in the WSC. This is the primary focus of our care and decision-making in providing snowsports programs to them.

WSC has zero tolerance for any kind of abusive behaviour.

WSC is committed to providing a safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect them and their participation in the WSC. Attention will also be paid to respecting the cultural needs and wellbeing of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and those children with a disability.

Every person involved in WSC programs has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role he/she plays individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all children and young people is at the forefront of all they do and every decision they make.

In its planning, decision-making and operations WSC will:

Take a preventative, proactive and consultative approach to child and young person safety, including the establishment of easy and confidential (to the extent that is possible), reporting processes;
Value and empower children to participate in decisions which affect their lives;
Foster a culture of openness that supports people disclosing any perceived or actual risks of harm to children including by making the procedures for reporting any issues, threats or concerns widely known and generally supporting people through the process;
Respect culturally diverse practices and approaches to raising children while keeping child safety paramount;
Provide written guidance to all WSC employees on appropriate conduct and behaviour towards children;
Engage only the most suitable people to work with children, ensure high quality staff and volunteer supervision and provide professional development opportunities;
Encourage parents to tell children who to talk with if they are worried or are feeling unsafe;
Put processes in place to provide additional support to children raising concerns directed at making them feel comfortable and encouraged to raise such issues;
Report suspected abuse, neglect or mistreatment promptly to the appropriate authorities;
Share information appropriately and lawfully with other organisations where the safety and wellbeing of children is at risk; and
Value the input of and communicate regularly with families and carers.

Perisher All-Mountain Performance Program

Perisher's All-Mountain Performance (AMP) is intended for skiers and snowboarders aged 7-16 of intermediate to advanced ability and has an equal focus on improving skills in giant slalom, rider-cross, park and all-mountain riding.

The program is designed as a pathway to develop fundamentals and encourage adeptness across multiple disciplines before seeking success in one specialised discipline. Led by our most versatile professional coaches, training will have a balanced focus on building versatility and confidence.

Program overview

Perisher's All-Mountain Performance Program has been designed to develop fundamental riding skills and prepare athletes for introductory competitions
Led by our most versatile and experienced coaches, training has a balanced focus on building versatility and confidence
The program is based on best practice and guided by Snow Australia's FTEM framework
Much of the time spent on snow will focus on technical riding skills to enable athletes to participate in all disciplines
Event training (Moguls, Giant Slalom, Park, Rider-Cross) is moderated and based on the group's development requirements

Program dates

Perisher's All-Mountain Performance Program is scheduled to run from 28th June until 14th September 2025

Program structure

Full time

55 days in total, including 5 full training days per week (Saturdays, Sundays and 3 week days)

Part time

Includes 2 full training days per week (Saturdays & Sundays) as well as 3 weekdays per week during both weeks of the NSW Public School Holidays

Minimum Program Requirements

High-intermediate to advanced skill level; strong parallel/all-terrain riding on all groomed blue terrain, ready to explore off-piste/moguls/terrain parks
Previous competition experience is not mandatory, however an ambition to compete is required
Pathways participants must have turned 7 before 1st June 2025

Additional details

Perisher Winter Sports Club staff will be available from May 2025 to assist with questions in the lead up to the season.
Coaching staff will be confirmed prior to the commencement of on-snow training. Training groups will initially be formed based on the information provided during the registration process and finalised during the first training block.

Alpine Team

Program overview

Perisher's Alpine Team program is designed to prepare advanced athletes for progression into elite ski racing.
The program aims to refine ski specific skills and techniques both on and off the racecourse for high performance in Giant Slalom, Slalom, and Skier-Cross

Program focus

The program aims to refine ski specific skills, including technical, tactical, physical and psychological components that lay the pillars that are necessary to successfully compete in high calibre races
Exploring more challenging aspects of skiing disciplines through regular freeski activities and developing techniques in and out of racecourses will set the foundation for athletic skiing and racing
The Alpine program covers Giant Slalom, Slalom and Skier-Cross elements throughout the season whilst having fun in a safe environment
Perisher's Alpine Team has access to some of the best race-training facilities in Australia which are fully utilised throughout the season
This program is based on best practice and guided by Snow Australia's FTEM framework

Program overview

Perisher's Mogul Team program is unparalleled with access to Australia’s top mogul training facilities and a dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced specialist coaches
Our Mogul Team program is designed for athletes who wish to pursue a competitive career in mogul skiing. The program aims to refine a range of mogul specific skills to extend adaptability and enhance successful competition

Program focus

The program aims to refine mogul specific skills, including mogul skiing, jump and air training as well as, technical, tactical, physical and psychological components to extend adaptability and enhance successful competition.
Our team of highly qualified, experienced and specialist coaches focus on maximising time on snow to bring out the best in your child’s competition development.
Effective programming combined with athlete’s motivation for learning and physical fitness will support a pathway to high performance. As physical fitness is a vital part of the training regime, we highly encourage trampolining, gymnastics and multi-sport training to promote versatility, balance, coordination and control.

Ready to take on Perisher’s award-winning terrain parks? Our Freeski Team program is designed to build the best Slopestyle, Big Air and All Mountain skiing fundamentals
Regular free-ride activities combined with competitive opportunities, such as Snow Australia Park and Pipe Series Events, will help provide a foundation for high performance.

Program focus

Perisher's Freeski program aims to develop young athletes who want to learn, progress and refine rail, jump and freeskiing skills, fundamental movement skills and physical literacy required for athletic development
Our team of highly qualified, experienced and specialist coaches focus on maximising time on snow with an emphasis on safety, fun and learning

Perisher's Snowboard Team program is designed for athletes who wish to take their Boarder Cross, Big Air, and Slopestyle riding to competition level
Aspiring boarder-cross and park athletes will refine skills, learn tricks, and develop tactics to take to competition

Perisher's Snowboard Team program utilises award-winning terrain parks and racecourses
Aspiring park athletes will learn tricks and develop tactics to bring together competition-style runs
Boarder Cross athletes will refine skills such as balance, edging, jumping, and timing in a high-paced environment while enjoying Perisher's several courses and other race training facilities

Perisher Ski & Snowboard Early Development Programs

Perisher's Early Development Programs are designed to strengthen general ski and snowboard skills for children aged 3-14 years.

Programs are split into two age groups, Mini Mites for children 3-6 and Devo Team for children 7-14.

Mini Mites (ages 3-6)

About the program

The Mini Mites program is intended to teach our youngest skiers and snowboarders basic skills to develop their ability and confidence on the mountain.

Your child will be assigned a group and coach based on their skiing or snowboarding ability to ensure a fun and safe learning environment. Your child’s skills will be continuously reviewed so that if they progress quickly, we’re able to ensure they’re swapped to the right group. If you have any questions throughout the program, you will always be able to ask your child's coach.

Our coaches have been carefully selected based on their passion for working with kids, their patience and their ability to make learning fun!

Must be ready to learn to ski or snowboard
Must be able to use the toilet independently

The Devo Team program is a great way for your children to further develop their skiing or riding ability while meeting new friends and exploring the mountain.

Our awesome coaches provide a safe, fun and exciting learning environment that help progress your child to the next stage in their ski or snowboard development. Technical improvement is combined with theme days, races and events to make 'Devos' the most fun kids can have on the mountain.

Recreational ski and snowboard programs that prioritises mileage and utilising the entire mountain and available terrain to refine skill

Program overview

Perisher's Race Masters program is intended for experienced adult skiers (25+) who have racing ambitions
The program aims to develop skill acquisition and includes gate training and provides opportunities for participants to take their skiing and racing to the next level
Emphasis on Slalom and Giant Slalom (as well as ocasionally Super-G) will refine skills, both in the gates and through technical freeski

Program dates

Every Saturday and Sunday from 19th July until 31st August 2025 (14 days in total)

Minimum program requirements

Advanced ski ability with ambitions to race/compete
Protective & appropriate race equipment is required
