Today at Perisher

Sunny Saturday: the calm before the storm!

We're kicking off the weekend with a mostly sunny day, a top of 7°C, and west to north-westerly winds around 13km/h. It's shaping up to be a great day on the mountain!

It's a chilly start this morning at Perisher, with the temperature currently sitting at -8°C. Those cool overnight conditions meant our snowmaking team could fire up the snow guns, with 188 running across the resort from 5:30pm and still going this morning.

Thanks to fresh snowfall earlier in the week and good snowmaking conditions, the Mountain Operations team has been able to open more lifts and terrain, including the recently opened Interceptor Quad Chair, Freedom Quad Chair and Sun Valley T-Bar. There are also now three interconnected resort areas, so you can ski and ride between Perisher Valley, Blue Cow and Guthega. With 41 lifts expected to spin and 64 groomed runs on offer today, there's plenty of space to discover your moment on the mountain.

Please note: you can ski from Perisher to Smiggins via Piper T-Bar, but you'll need to take the free Guest Shuttle to get back to Perisher Valley.

Blue Cow Cup races continue today on Front Valley, best of luck to all the junior racers! Elsewhere across the resort, you'll find live music at Jax Bar, Mid-Station and Blue Cow, so be sure to check it out between laps.

Make the most of today's fine weather, as wintery conditions are set to roll in tomorrow, and fingers crossed, more snow with it!

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course. This near real-time snow depth information is available HERE.
